As with Reddit above, we actively searched for Patreon's own dedicated deceased-account policy and did not find one. Patreon's general help center is reachable, and its Zendesk-style internal search endpoint responded, but returned no matching article for "deceased," and no independent search surfaced a Patreon-authored support article on the topic — only third-party estate-planning blog posts describing how survivors have handled the situation in practice, which are not primary sources and are not quoted here.

This matters more for Patreon specifically than it would for a typical social account, because a Patreon page is frequently a real income stream — a creator's patrons are actively billed on a recurring basis, and (per Q10, on subscriptions generally) that billing does not stop on its own. Without a documented Patreon-specific process, the honest guidance is the general one: if you have login access to a deceased creator's Patreon account, you can pause or cancel it directly through account settings the same as any other subscription-style service; if you don't, contacting Patreon support directly — and being prepared to prove the death and your relationship or authority, since there's no published self-service form for this scenario — is the only documented option we could confirm.

One structural fact is confirmable without a dedicated policy page, because it follows from how Patreon works rather than from any death-specific document: patron subscriptions are billed by Patreon on behalf of the creator, not directly by the creator, so simply being unable to log into the creator's account does not, by itself, stop patrons from continuing to be charged — someone with either login access or a successful support request needs to actively act, mirroring the exact mechanic our first batch documented for subscriptions generally.

What we could not verify — and this is a genuine gap, not a formality: any Patreon-authored documentation describing what happens to a deceased creator's page, membership tiers, posted content, Stripe/payment-processor connection, or patron relationships; what proof Patreon requires to act on such a request; or whether Patreon will pause billing, delete the page, or leave it untouched by default. If you're handling this, contact Patreon support directly, and do not assume Substack's documented policy (Q34, above) — a different platform with a similar creator-monetization model — applies to Patreon; we have no evidence either way.
